Carved Foam Gargoyle
Project for Props Design
This is a gargoyle I carved from XPS foam for my props design class.
I adhered layers of 1” foam together as it was what we had in stock, and drew out basic profiles before cutting them on the bandsaw. I did all the cutting and details with a snap knife, sureform, and rasp. I did minor finishes with sandpaper, and coated it with foam coat before painting. The nails were made separately from air dry clay and attached with white PVA glue.
