Molding and Casting
Below is a variety of examples of my molding and casting. Shown are plaster casts and casting, alginate, silicone, epoxy resin, and plaster bandages.
Examples are from various classes.
Sculpt of crystal cluster from clay.
Cast crystal from epoxy resin, mold made from two part silicone. Then crystal was coated with clear gloss for crystalline finish.
Crystal colored with drawing ink and contains led lights for effect. Bubbles were encouraged to allow for greater light reflection.
Blank for rat, modelled in Rhino 6. Printed on resin printer.
Rats are cast in soap into a silicone mold.
Final product being, Swarm of Rats Soap.
Ribcage sculpted from non-drying clay.
Mold is plaster 1-part mold.
Cast in plaster bandages, then glued halves together to make full rounded shapes.
Original was bird on top of candle holder.
Mold was alginate, as well as mold for finger.
Both were cast in plaster.
